About 🙋♀️
I’m a self-made all-in-one with over half a decade of experience across industries 🤍
My spirit begins back in my school years, where I always felt an internal pull towards being different. I was a by-the-book student: introverted, kind, and polite. But I found confidence in doing things and going places years before others matured into it. Mostly because nobody else would do it for me but me. For memories, for moments that mattered.
That sense of self-direction has stayed with me into adulthood. In 2018, I left Barnsley College after completing my first year of an Interactive Media Diploma. The generic route of university, student halls, and another few years of the same didn’t sit right with me. It wasn’t fear. It just didn’t match my intuition.
Instead, I chased down apprenticeship opportunities and was fortunate enough to land an interview for a Digital Marketing apprenticeship, expressed through a Content Creator position. It was a path I didn’t even know existed, because no one at college had ever shown it to me. But I found it anyway.
Be More Social in Doncaster was the company where I flourished. Looking back now, I see how instrumental that experience has been in shaping who I am and what I do. We were a social media consultancy, not an agency. The first of its kind, always thinking ahead. The entrepreneurial exposure, personal growth, perseverance, and resilience I gained there mean far more to me than a university degree. From a tiny team to a medium-sized one, we survived and grew dramatically throughout the COVID pandemic by helping other SMEs transition into the online space.
I was privileged to support a multitude of content creation and social media clients, learning the secrets behind brand storytelling, content marketing, and social media strategy. Although I adored this path, another abstract pull drew me towards coding. Surrounded by admirably innovative individuals, I was inspired to teach myself how to code and experiment tirelessly. I wasn’t sure where I was heading, or whether I would stay, but I felt a deep fulfilment to continue.
This led to a conflicting epiphany. I realised I could no longer continue on the same path, as I gravitated more towards tech. At a time when I felt distraught about this, someone was willing to take a chance on me as a software engineer. And not far from Be More Social. A one-in-a-million chance, but still a difficult transition for me. I knew it was something I needed and wanted to do. At the same time, I was burned out. Commit Digital honoured the space and time I needed, trusting in the potential I could give.
Commit Digital is where I began my career as a software engineer, healing and paying it forward within an intimately respectful team who masterfully taught me everything from the basics of software to complex levels. At a certain point, Doncaster was pushing me away. I could no longer stay there for myself.
For a short period, I calibrated myself on my first freelance pursuit. Unknowingly innocent and naïve, unsure of what to do or where to find answers. I didn’t yet understand how to set personal or professional boundaries, or what it truly meant to be a good freelancer. I was still figuring out how to move forward and build a name for myself.
Then the answer found me in the form of another software engineering position. It came at a time when I was still recovering, still rebuilding. But it met me where I was, not where I had been. It reminded me that growth isn’t always linear. Sometimes it circles back with more compassion and more insight. I wasn’t searching, only existing, when everything quietly aligned. This opportunity asked for exactly what I could give, no more and no less.
An enjoyable, multi-stage interview process followed, one that I exceeded, and I became a Software Engineer at Kitman Labs. This chapter became the most transformative both personally and professionally. I faced extreme levels of imposter syndrome, but also developed new mental and physical strengths within my skillset. I grew confident in making critical decisions on high-stakes data projects for top international sports leagues. My independence soared. Being fully remote gave me the capacity to thrive, and I travelled to Nashville, TN five times in 18 months, discovering my home away from home.
The end of those 18 months marked my final chapter at Kitman Labs due to redundancies across the tech industry. What followed was a deeply exhausting and unpredictable time. 10 months of soul-searching, of depending on every connection I had.
Before I thought things could get any worse, I was facing consistent rejections, with few opportunities and far too many candidates. Sometimes it was because my skillset wasn’t advanced or specific enough. Then, within the space of a month, I lost both of my grandparents. The heartbreak layered itself over an already uncertain chapter, and I felt completely untethered.
I wrestled with uncertainty, imposter syndrome, and the sense of identity that comes from being productive in a world that constantly demands output. But I also began to realise that my value doesn’t begin or end with a job title. I rested, rebuilt, and slowly returned to myself, not the version that was burnt out or broken, but one that was wiser, more grounded, and more honest.
Those months were uncomfortable, but they were also clarifying. I reconnected with my creativity, my independence, and the belief that I can make space for others just as space was once made for me. I have spent so much time waiting for a yes from others that I forgot to give it to myself first. Over the years, I have been fortunate to be around the right people at the right time to deliver the services I can right now.

Georgina would always go the extra mile to fulfil her clients’ wants and needs with her ‘let’s make it happen’ attitude. G was never afraid to make suggestions on ways to improve processes or give her valued opinion. Nothing was ever too much for Georgina. She just knuckled down and completed her tasks efficiently. Georgina brought a great presence to the office with her happy, bubbly and kind personality. Georgina was my ‘go-to girl’ at Be More Social to take my laptop and coffee over to sit and work together and bounce idea’s around, or even for a game of pool – I’m sure any future colleagues of hers will feel the same.
